GMO's in Australia
Currently, the only genetically modified crops in Australia are producing canola and cotton, but a high amount of GM foods are being imported from overseas and used in packaged food in Australia. Genetically modified cotton has been growing in Australia since 1996, the cotton has been modified so that it is insect and herbicide resistant. Genetically modified canola has been producing since 2003.
